A small but potent alpine with bunched jasmine scented rosy-pink flowers, now in decline in the high Himalayas due to overharvesting of the valerian-patchouli scented roots. It enjoys a similar habitat and properties as Himalayan Spikenard -Nardostachys grandiflora. The flowers are creamy and clustered. It is the aromatic root that has been used in the past as a gentle nerve sedative and relaxant.
